Bio
John Moschella, CFA, CPA
Travis was an intern in our Financial Modeling Virtual Intern Program for the second quarter earnings season of 2019. During his time with Gutenberg Research he expanded his financial modeling expertise while building an earnings model for Starbucks Corp. He demonstrated a strong work ethic as the program is extremely intense. The experience is much like working as an equity research associate at a sell-side firm. Interns must read a 50+ page training manual, attend online training calls, pass an exam to prove their modeling skills, and submit an earnings model of their own to be published. His Starbucks model included well thought-out assumptions, which demonstrated his ability to research the company independently, synthesize information provided by management on earnings conference calls, and incorporate external factors such as macroeconomic changes, and changes in competitive pressure. Based on his performance in our Program, I would strongly recommend Travis for a position in equity research, or a related field.
