  I work with local farmers, business owners, and schools to create access to healthy foods in the community. Rural Action runs the Chesterhill Produce Auction in Morgan county, witch is a local food hub. The auction brings farmers and consumers together to increase food access. I am part of the "Farm to school" movement and work to get local foods in cafeterias throughout Athens County. We strive to create a community that eats and shops local and has access to fresh produce. In order to create a better community we work with surrounding organizations with similar visions.

  Americorps is an organization that serves hours with non profits and for others to help the surrounding community. COMCorps mission is to reduce and eventually eliminate childhood diabetes by educating children and families. We teach a healthy cooking/behaviors class a few times a week to expose children to healthy foods and show how important health is. We also do health screenings inside schools including vision and hearing. Americorps is an organization that serves hours with non profits and for others to help the surrounding community.
