This is accomplished through research and analysis, public advocacy leadership, and partnership with the private sector. Some have called superhot rock (SHR) the “holy-grail” of geothermal energy. This is because, in most of the world, SHR could provide competitive, zero-carbon, dispatchable power and could support zero-carbon hydrogen fuel production. It is one of the very few high-energy-density, zero-carbon resources that could replace fossil energy around the globe. Mentoring ranges from structural-stratigraphic interpretation to prospect maturation. • A key responsibility is to build relationships and develop cross collaboration with Aramco Research in Beijing, Houston, Dhahran and to introduce key external collaborations with relevant research groups.
