  Working as part of 5-year research project studying the impact of ocean acidification on Mussels and Oysters. This final segment of the project is taking place at the Marine Environmental Research Laboratory (MERL) over a 3-month period, allowing for the study of Mussel and Oyster shell growth and shell composition. The bivalves are being cultured in 16 large seawater tanks, with alterations to a number of parameters including temperature, pH and feed volume. Regular seawater changes must be carried out every second day and random sampling is done regularly to document the changes in shell growth between tanks
