Regulatory Reporting My mission consisted in reengineering the process used to compute Fortis' risk weighted assets for the… Show more As an "Accounting, Reporting, Control and Consolidation Officer", I discovered 4 different functions (3 in the Finance department) through 3 to 4 months traineeships: 1. Cost Management My missions, to state but a few, were about optimization and organisation of the processes, but also thorough analysis of business costs in budget and actuals. 2. Regulatory Reporting My mission consisted in reengineering the process used to compute Fortis' risk weighted assets for the Basel I reports. From studying the original texts, translating these into algorithms and processes, to extracting and computing data through different tools. 3. Commercial Agent Working in the commercial area allowed me to fully understand the relation with customers and the basis of the back office work I am used to deal with. 4. Transversal Change. As an active change agent within the Finance department, I contributed to the department' strategic plans and also contributed to the success of a leadership seminar in collaboration with senior management. This traineeship allowed me to sensibly improve my communication skills and required a large adaptability along other skills: fast-learning, hands-on attitude, analytical mind, and problem-solving for instance.
