I worked with Ruth closely during her entire time at Rocket Fuel, our departments operated in tandem on all inventory projects. She scaled a very visible, key business function in the company - building out, managing, and troubleshooting the entire media inventory supply. Ruth quickly bought on partners and built deep relationships with them. She solved complex business problems in the bidding ecosystem, getting executive support from both partners and internal resources at every level, from engineers to CEOs. Ruth was a great manager and mentor to her team. She and the team she led were very successful at gathering, synthesizing and sharing high quality information, business or technical.

I worked with Ruth closely at Rocket Fuel on the engineering team for supply related projects. I had the pleasure of working with her through multiple long exchange integrations over several years. Ruth has a unique ability to get everyone involved in a project motivated, excited and passionate behind her cause at every level of the organization. She has a special way with people - a knack for talking with engineers, or executives, finding problems, and then finding the appropriate resources while inspiring others to solve those problems. She built an amazingly respected team of first class employees and has a real special ability of spotting and developing talent. Working with Ruth was a pleasure and she would make an invaluable asset to whichever team she is a part of.

A long career detour from software and tech... traveled and lived in remote areas of the world, learning about other cultures and myself along the way. Led multiple month-long private expeditions for executives and dignitaries to Mongolia, Bhutan, India, and Egypt, providing deep, personal, cultural immersion experiences. Organized, photographed and led a 2021 humanitarian project to document Nobel Peace Prize winner Dr. Ken Rutherford’s return to Mauritania. Project required complex problem solving and coordination in rough border crossings amidst changing political situations. See more https://youtu.be/Ljfy_6eosBU Show less

Director, Global Supply Partnerships
-
2011 - 2016
Built and managed a five-person organization responsible for Rocket Fuel's media supply. The Supply organization was in charge of distributing (through direct engineering integrations) approximately $100 million in annual spend among 20+ partnerships. Monthly spend ranged from $200k to over $3M per partner. Evaluated over 100 exchange partners for integration, based off evolving product needs. Grew partnership network to 26 exchanges. Each integration required creative, real-time business problem solving. Spearheaded task force for fraudulent inventory identification. Reduced discrepancies by over 14%, decreased risky inventory exposure by 20%, and saved $7 million in annual recurring expenses. Provided partner education to recognize patterns in data, put contractual measures in place to protect the organization. Our anti-fraud inventory measures were part of a factor in our $ 1 Billion dollar IPO. Served as the inventory go-to for operations, engineering, product, and sales. Led the business side of complex six-month API engineering integrations, requiring monitoring and reporting of overall capacity and latency issues, performance, and margin in real time. Partners onboarded, integrated, and managed include: Google, Microsoft, AOL, Brightroll, Index Exchange, Adapt.tv, AppNexus, Rubicon, Pubmatic, Lijit/Federated Media, OpenX, Facebook FBX, Twitter/MoPub, Yahoo Right Media, IPONWEB Show less
