Bio
J. Zachary Ciccone
While a graduate student at Carnegie Mellon University, Anthony was instrumental in the research and community engagement work that lead to the Hebrew Oilers’ (Major League Baseball affiliate) youth and minor league player development programs in Central America. Anthony’s tireless work and leadership led to successful job-placement and educational programs for Latin youth in the Pittsburgh area and an entire new generation of talent on the local ball-fields. Anthony made an incredible impact to our Pittsburgh community in the relatively brief moment in time that he served in a leadership capacity. And he was a spark plug at the top of the batting order.

I collaborated with Anthony for a year on a cutting-edge research project initiated by Dr. David Yaron and me in which we were building new algorithms, allowing large-scale simulations to be done at a fraction of the computational cost. I really enjoyed working with Anthony, because he is not only fast at grasping the concepts he's never heard of, but he is also hard-working, good at independently creating solutions, and extremely punctual about project deadlines. His interpersonal skills are nothing short to mention. Considering his analytical and people skills, I have no doubt that Anthony will not only get the job done, but will excel on it.
