Experience

    • Sales Representative

    • Regional Sales Manager
      • Feb 1987 - Jan 2002

I had 6 different positions with Moore, which is why it was easy to stay with them so long. Regional Sales Manager was my last position, but the most challenging and rewarding was as Director, Business Communications Management. I lead a team of people who were considered the top in each of their areas of specialization. Jointly, we developed strategies, created and delivered proposals & presentations, assessed the financial viability & negotiated the contracts for Moore Canada's long-term outsourcing agreements.

    • Census Area Manager
      • Jan 1986 - Sep 1986

Contract position - project management for 1986 Canadian Census. Responsible for hiring & training 12 direct & 275 indirect reports. Most exciting part of this job was going to Paulituk, which is a temporary Inuit settlement, to enumerate the people before they broke their temporary winter encampment. • Project Manager / Research Assistant
      • Nov 1981 - Dec 1985

Market research was a new business when I was in it. People were intrigued by our phone calls rather than annoyed by them. Angus Reid is an icon in the market research business, but I still remember Angus grabbing a box of surveys that the courier had forgotten to pick up, and running down the street to catch him, so that we didn't miss our deadline. When I lived in Winnipeg, I was their National Operations Manager that included managing the Canada-wide survey staff plus the sampling, coding & data entry departments.

    • Realtor / Sales Manager
      • Aug 1979 - Nov 1981

Yes, my real estate career started in 1979! I was involved in buying & selling real estate before my 20th birthday. Because I wasn't afraid to "Cold Call", I ended up as a sales manager training new Realtor's how to find business. Yes, my real estate career started in 1979!
