As a (Big) data engineer I'm responsible for building a data lake on a Spark cluster in the Amazon Cloud (AWS). This will be done with the programming languae Scala. Also we are using Spark SQL (Spark SQL, part of Apache Spark big data framework, is used for structured data processing and allows running SQL like queries on Spark data. We do this based on Agile and Scrum.In my second task I'm responsible for the whole BusinessObjects (BI 4.1) packageMain tasks:- Maintaining the BO server- Monitoring the BO environment- Implementing the correct security- Supporting both business and IT in universes and reports- Looking for new features on the market- Training people in BO (Business and IT)- Testing

As an application specialist I was mainly responsible for the reporting processes within the advertising domain of De Persgroep Publishing. In collaboration with the business I searched for the best possible BI solution for their question.Main tasks:- Implementing and maintaining ETL processes - Creating datamarts for reporting- Creating and maintaining universes build in BusinessObjects- Supporting business in building reports- TestingWithin De Persgroep I grew to the single point of contact for all BusinessObjects related questions. Both for business and IT I gave training in BusinessObjects to teach how to build reports and universes.In 2016 in was co-responsible for the project migration of BOXI3.1 to BI4.1As a second task I gave 2nd line support for the advertising systems. As a software engineer BI I'm responsible for the implementation of the information needs from our internal partners (e.g. Purchase, Finance,...) in collaboration with the functional analysts.I translate the functional questions into a technical design.
