Riaan's brain works as fast as he types, and he types really fast! He is problem solver who never dwells on the problem, always solution focused. He is passionate about all things IT and loves to help others grow in their abilities and confidence. He is humble and soft spoken who doesn't need to raise his voice or use his status to make a point. He is truly a great leader who leads by example, working twice as hard as his subordinates, with passion that is contagious you want to outdo your best everyday. I'm fortunate to have worked with him and would be honored to work with him on future projects.

Riaan is the rare person who has served on executive level and still maintains both the enthusiasm and expertise in technology. He has the ability to quickly grasp complex problems and when asked for always has a decisive and valuable suggestion. As a technologist he is able to comprehend the wider architectual context as well as really understanding the low level complexity of the components that constitute the system. I can think of many examples where Riaan has both helped with debugging a technical problem and guided developers to understand the context of what they are working on. Riaan is always calm and approachable and even under high-pressured conditions he has demonstrated that he is willing to take time to give advice or even just a quick chat. Always well informed of the latest developments and able to share some cool new technology or insight. I have enjoyed and learned a lot working with Riaan and would do so gladly in the future.
