  Direct the organization’s strategic programs and investments to restore and enhance national forests in Oregon, Washington and Alaska by working with the Forest Service and with community partners across the region. Fundraise from foundations, corporations and individuals to invest in community partners to implement a range of projects including invasive species removal, establish native plants, trail restoration, instream fish habitat improvement, and to engage and employ youth and volunteers. Manage restoration projects on national forests including watershed health, culvert replacements, trail reconstruction, public use cabins and fire lookout renovations by providing grants and managing contractors in coordination with the Forest Service staff.   Created and implemented strategies to promote sustainable forestry and economic development through a coordinated and collaborative process including: • Provided facilitation and technical assistance to diverse stakeholders in the Blue Mountains Forest Partners (Malheur NF), Wallowa-Whitman Forest Collaborative and the Wild Rivers Coast Forest Collaborative (Rogue-River Siskiyou NF) to find agreement for forest restoration and economic development. • Planned workshops, webinars, field tours and facilitated meetings to develop scientific understanding and social agreement for fuels reduction and forest management on national forests in Oregon and Washington. • Led fundraising efforts and managed program budgets, staff, and contractors to implement program initiatives across the Pacific Northwest. • Developed and managed multiple networks of forest collaboratives in the Pacific Northwest to share scientific information, support capacity building and provide peer to peer learning opportunities. Networks included the Region 6 CFLRP Network, Washington Forest Collaboratives Network, and the Blue Mountains Coalition of Collaboratives. • Worked with the USFS Pacific Northwest Region Office to enhance the Forest Service’s ability achieve forest health and socio-economic goals across the region. Worked to provide urban market access for small, rural wood products businesses producing local, responsibly grown wood products including: • Assisted in the management of Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) group chain of custody certification for over 27 small forest products businesses • Provided technical assistance and organizational development support for the Build Local Alliance – a network of local, sustainable forest products businesses Show less
