Travelled through France as a WWOOFer. I started at the Vallée de la Millière, where I worked with a team of international sustainability enthusiasts on creating a biodiversity reserve, community gardens, and a natural orchard. We collaboratively planned and mapped areas, installed waterlines, and ensured soil nutrition through diverse flora plantings. Continued on to La Ferme Des Deux Anes where I worked autonomously on caring for crops and animals. I implemented sustainable and organic gardening and farming practices while cross-culturally communicating progress and obstacles with owners. I ended my journey at Les Arnauds, a bed and breakfast, where I cared for the property gardens. I'm extremely grateful for my time WWOOFing and all of the growth it inspired! Show less

This position combined conservation research with civic engagement and community outreach. Our research initiative focused on preventing the spread of aquatic invasive species (AIS) in the Finger Lakes. I inspected watercraft for AIS at boat launches and performed rake tosses via kayaks to sample, identify, and map plant species. I then recorded my data on Survey123 to later synthesize and analyze via Excel. Using data analytics I was able to create graphs revealing the success of our research initiative to be used in reports, presentations, and for community education. Show less
