Eleri was an intern with the Data Engineering team at RxBenefits for the Summer, 2023 term. In the relatively short time frame of her role, she was able to contribute to both the Data Engineering and the newly formed Data Reliability Engineering teams. She embraced sometimes ambiguous problems and evolving requirements head on with a professional attitude, curiosity and enthusiasm for the work. Her work products were of a quality and utility that exceeded our expectations. A mentor of mine used to say ‘this could be a statement against my own self interest’, as I recommend Eleri, without reservation, to a future employer in the data science, data engineering fields. Eleri is going to do great things as she progresses in her career. My advice to potential employers is to strive to have her work be in service to your organization. From a technical standpoint, she already has entry-level skills in SQL and Python, and has successfully leveraged each with our cloud data platform, Snowflake. Further, she leveraged text mining to create a theme analysis that contributed to the mission and charter for an internal project at RxBenefits. Usually I strive to have interns work on projects such as tooling and monitoring that are outside of the normal delivery work stream of the team. This allows the intern to experiment with a project that has little to no consequence of failure. It soon became evident to the team that her capabilities rose above these intern-level projects. My very best regards to Eleri and my gratitude for her work, though I will be working to ensure our professional paths soon cross.
