I was recruited into this position while I was Director of Facilities Maintenance for my previous employer. It was a nature next step for me. HD Supply is the leading provider of repair parts for maintenance teams at apartment complexes, hotels and hospitals. I had been using HD Supply for all my maintenance needs and now I was in the position to serve all the hundreds of properties and technicians in a unique way. I was instantly the subject matter expert because I actually had hands on use of the products. This led my territory to win a top production award the very next year.

After leaving the Navy I returned to Minnesota and started a new career in facilities maintenance for large apartment complexes. I started out leading maintenance teams at individual properties and then I was eventually recruited to be on a roving team of subject matter experts. The skills and leadership I acquired while in the military were the key to my overwhelming success in this industry. My final position was Director of Facilities Maintenance for an entire management company, all of it's properties and the people the people that made it all happen. In that position I had the opportunity to oversee an interior renovation of the second largest apartment complex in Minnesota. This position and what I was able to accomplish will always stand out as one of my greatest accomplishments.
