When I picked up the phone and called Syracuse University about furthering my education and obtaining my MBA Carly was there to receive the call. It took me many years just to finish my BA, I honestly did not think an MBA was obtainable and was really just looking for information on a school I love. Carly eased my tensions and talked to me like a human, she never pressured me or tried to sell me on anything, she listened, she heard what I said and she acknowledged my doubts and worries. Sometimes all it takes is for a person to talk to you, not push you but talk, by the end of our phone call I was set in obtaining my MBA. Although our initial phone call ended with doubt I would be accepted Carly continued to reach out and ensure I was comfortable proceeding, again no pressure, just guidance and thoughtfulness. She sent me different articles on writing my entrance essays and gave me pointers on how I could enhance my profile and application. I am happy to say I was accepted into the program and our conversations continue to the day, she may have been a recruiter and the job was finished after the application was submitted but she still reaches out to ensure I am ready for this next chapter. If anyone is ever on the fence and unsure of where to go, I hope they can find a counselor that treats them like a person as I did and not another number.
