As part of the Business and Technology Development team, Pamela managed the Life Science Business Development Professionals of NC (LSBDP) networking group, NC Business Development Partnering Initiative, and Wet Lab Facilities projects. Previously a freelance web designer, she also managed the BTD team pages on the corporate website. Pamela coordinated the first four annual Partnering events at the CED Life Science Conference. The 2-day events provided opportunities to connect with representatives from pharma and biotech companies and discuss in/out-licensing needs. She also coordinated the first Southeast Venture Philanthropy Summit, bringing together hundreds of regional life science companies and national disease foundations to explore alliances bearing new opportunities. The Summit connected company leaders, academic researchers, funding specialists and executives from 30 foundations, including the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research and the Bill and Melinda Gates foundations and other major philanthropic groups targeting a wide range of diseases and conditions. Pamela is a Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator and was Database Administrator prior to joining the Business and Technology Development team. Lastly, she was a Spirit Award recipient at the NC Biotechnology Center; voted by co-workers as the employee who best exemplifies the Core Values of Accountability, Diversity, Empowerment, Integrity, Partnership, and Vision.
