My main role involved the delivery of the data reduction software for the European Spallation Source (ESS) as a project team member. My responsibilities included:- Provided technical design input on key areas of the data reduction solutions for the ESS.- Leading several development efforts using the C++/Python programming language.- Developed strategies for the processing of high throughput data. This involved developing understanding of all technologies along the pipeline (Full stack) of the software/hardware infrastructure (e.g. Kafka, HDF5, MPI/OpenMP).- Implementation of features to time and budget.- Working closely with scientists in the development of prototype scientific workflows.- Developing reports and monitoring tasks against project deliverables.- Self-managing software development tasks using an agile process in conjuction with the project manager.
