Community Education/Relations and Volunteer Manager
-
Jan 2018 - Aug 2018
Throughout my career at Maternal and Child Health Consortium (MCHC), I had the privilege of fulfilling three job positions within the organization, developing professionally as a leader, manager, and community member within the nonprofit, healthcare sector. In my previous position as MCHC's Community Education/Relations and Volunteer Manager, I was responsible for the supervision of interns and volunteers as well as assisting with program management and coordination. In addition to internal leadership, my role involved external representation of the organization at community events and networking meetings with other local agencies. I also assisted with development tasks such as event planning, marketing through social media platforms, and other outreach activities. Furthermore, I cultivated relationships with nonprofits, school districts, managed care organizations, health foundations, the Department of Human Services, and local legislators to expand our organization's collaborations, ultimately enhancing our relationships with the populations that MCHC serves. I also had the opportunity to complete the Executive Leadership Institute through Phoenixville Community Health Foundation, strengthening multiple leadership, program management, networking, and communication skills. In addition, I have served as a leader and facilitator for major events including MCHC’s Health Insurance Gatherings, Back-to-School Campaigns, Annual Spring Luncheons, and the Chester County Community Collaborative’s Annual Single Mothers’ Conference. These opportunities have allowed me to create fundamental relationships both locally and statewide to provide essential services to families in need.

Program Manager
-
Jul 2016 - Jan 2018
As Program Manager, I was responsible for internally supervising staff as well as representing the organization externally at networking meetings and community events. My primary program was dedicated to enrolling children, families, and individuals into public health benefits such as health insurance through Medicaid and CHIP as well as SNAP (food stamps) and TANF (cash assistance). I also served as the organization's Certified Application Counselor for Marketplace health insurance, assisting individuals with enrollment into affordable healthcare through the Federal Marketplace. I advocated for both the English and Spanish-speaking communities of Chester County, PA and parts of Montgomery County, PA. This position gave me the opportunity to lead two health insurance gatherings in collaboration with the Brandywine Health Foundation, Department of Human Services, Pennsylvania Health Access Network, Public Citizens for Children and Youth, and the Chester County Assistance Office. These events featured panel discussions regarding the currents status of health insurance through the Affordable Care Act, Medicaid, and CHIP as well as creative strategies to reach the uninsured. Furthermore, our organization facilitated an annual Back-to-School Campaign, in which I led our collaboration with surrounding school districts by building a referral system between school district staff members and our programs as well as incorporating our program information within the registration process in order to connect more students to affordable healthcare. In addition, I led our social media committee by creating and scheduling posts for Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram regarding topics such as healthcare information and staff participation in community events. I also served as a committee member for the Chester County Single Mothers' Conference as the Chair of Programming. I used Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher) and Google Drive on a daily basis.

Family Benefits Advocate
-
Sep 2014 - Jun 2016
As a Family Benefits Advocate, I assisted both the English and Spanish-speaking communities with enrollment into Medicaid, CHIP, SNAP (food stamps), and TANF (cash assistance) through Chester County, Pennsylvania. I served as a liaison between applicants and their caseworkers by educating them on benefit requirements, assisting with the entire application process, and advocating on behalf of applicants to ensure that their case has been completely reviewed for eligibility. I maintained a detailed Microsoft Excel spreadsheet to track outcomes of the applications I submitted and to ensure optimal follow-up procedures with applicants. This position required Spanish/English bilingual communication skills, exceptional attention to detail, and superior interpersonal skills. I also served as a member of the organization's Culture Committee.
