I know Ruben since 2005. We met during our study bachelor in business administration. Ruben's focus was on hospitality and he is truly great in this. He has worked in several hospitality companies and he made improvements in all of them. Over the years Ruben has become a fantastic friend who always supports me. We spends many vacations together and often hang out. In January this year Ruben opened his very own yoga studio Tula with his girlfriend Viki and I am convinced this will be a great success. Ruben is a true entrepreneur!

Together with Ruben and two other classmates of ours (Tijn de Smit and Leroy Pouw) we set up the wine association Dionysus. Ruben was primarily responsible for the administrative side of the association, but he was also very involved with every other aspect of the association. His biggest skill was his interaction with the members of the association as well with the business contacts of the association. His enthusiasm for wine was a tremendous asset for the association. He was able to reflect this enthusiasm onto the members creating a strong foundation for the continuation of Dionysus. Unfortunately Ruben left the association after a year to continue his education and carreer in Amsterdam. I enjoyed this year very much, and the cooperation with ruben was next to flawless.

      In early 2015 my partner Viki and I opened yoga studio TULA. A wonderful studio in the inspiring Spaarndammerbuurt (Amsterdam West). After three years we expended with a second location in Bos en Lommer (also Amsterdam West). Nowadays you can also find us in other places in The Netherlands because of the TULA Franchise studio's. Together with a great team of certified teachers and hosts we provide classes al day through, seven days a week. So, there's always a class for anyone. We teach: Yin, Vinyasa, Vinyasa slow flow, Ashtanga, Mindfulness, Restorative, Hatha, Lu Jong & Aerial Yoga. Besides the regular classes we deepen our knowledge with workshops and trainings. Tula is a young, fresh and energetic yoga studio where we can combine our love for hospitality with creativity and yoga.       Amsterdam's first happiness centre! Samen met TULA yoga studio's biedt Serotonin een unieke evenementenlocatie aan in Amsterdam West waar je kunt ontsnappen aan het drukke stadsleven. Naast een eigen programmering staat Serotonin volledig ter beschikking voor jouw unieke bijeenkomst. Een plek met 3 multifunctionele en prachtige ruimtes door de 4,5 meter hoogte, het vele licht en de groene planten. De naam Serotonin komt van het gelukshormoon serotonine. Serotonine is het stofje in je lichaam dat er voor zorgt dat je je goed en gelukkig voelt. Een tekort kan zorgen voor slapeloosheid, depressie en angstgevoelens. Alle reden dus om er voor te zorgen dat je voldoende serotonine in je lichaam hebt. Om je hierbij te helpen is Serotonin geopend: Amsterdam's first happiness centre. Inmiddels zijn we gestopt met Serotonin. De gedachten en visie blijven, maar de locatie hebben we opgegeven. Serotonin maakte gebruik van de locatie van TULA Yoga Amsterdam, maar nu daar iedere maand nieuwe lessen bijkomen blijft er weinig tijd en ruimte over om Serotonin in stand te houden.       Hôtel Droog is not a hotel like any other. It’s unique! Droog started twenty years ago with collecting design furniture and commission designers to create beautiful products. It evolved with a gallery and fashion store, and later when the chance occurred Droog started Hôtel Droog. At the same time Droog created the Fairy Tale Garden and started cooperating with Weltevree outdoor design. Everything is located in the beautiful historic buildings in the Staalstraat. This unique hotel, which is one big showroom and test area for guest, holds a lunch- and tearoom, has amazing designed rooms for events, and houses the ‘one and only bedroom’. The ‘one and only bedroom’ is our apartment of 55m2 which gives us the right to call ourselves a hotel. For me Hôtel Droog is the ultimate form of hotel management. Because the hotel is small but diverse it is a great place to practice my job and develop all aspects of hospitality. Coordinating the hotel bookings, lunchroom, staff and events is never dull, but very inspiring. At the same time the great design atmosphere boosts creativity and the freedom we have as an event location is ideal for event organisers to organise wonderful events.
