    • JAG Select
      • feb. de 2016 - oct. de 2017

I was one of only 3 law students in the United States accepted into the 2016 Air Force One Year College Program (OYCP), which guarantees selected second year law students a JAG position after school in exchange for commissioning through ROTC requirements rather than through the traditional "Direct Appointment" route. I completed Air Force ROTC Field Training in June 2016 and spend my last year of law school as an AFROTC Cadet at Detachment 800 of the University of Tennessee, graduating with distinction and the AFROTC Hall of Fame Award in 2017.

    • Student Law Clerk
      • sept. de 2013 - may. de 2016

My time at Wimberly Lawson Wright Daves & Jones, PLLC was an extremely valuable internship experience. Wimberly Lawson is a firm comprising 27 attorneys across five offices in Tennessee. The firm focuses on various types of employment litigation, exclusively working with employers in multiple areas of the law. I began here as a runner in my last year of undergrad, and it was exciting to see my role expand along with my skills in the legal profession. I finished my time at Wimberly doing regular clerk work, helping attorneys and paralegals with projects ranging from drafting and research to assistance with various discovery issues and communicating with claims managers on a variety of matters for our attorneys.

    • Summer Law Clerk
      • may. de 2015 - ago. de 2015

As part of my drive to get as much litigation experience as possible in anticipation of a career in military justice, I spent part of my summer at the D.A.'s office in my hometown while splitting the rest of my time with Wimberly Lawson and summer classes. I spent as much time as I could at the D.A.'s office in court, but I also spent extensive time on legal research and drafted several motions used in hearings by A.D.A.'s in the office. I have been invited back for Summer 2016, at which time I will be able to get a provisional bar license and actually conduct preliminary hearings with the assistance of a prosecutor.

    • Hospitality Ambassador
      • ago. de 2011 - may. de 2014

I worked in a part-time student position at Tennessee Athletic Hospitality on campus at UTK. TAH is responsible for club level hospitality at all University of Tennessee Division 1 football, basketball, and baseball games. My work at TAH for the past three years was a great way to make some extra money while going to school full time, and I worked there from the beginning to the end of my undergraduate career. Working with club level ticket holders in a hospitality setting was great practice for me in communicating and networking in a professional setting. My responsibilities included providing any service necessary for 13 boxes at football games and 9 at basketball games, each seating around 16 people. Food catering is provided by another company at club level athletic events, but we worked closely with them to ensure our clients had the enjoyable experience and superior service they payed for. Most of our clients were well known individuals and even celebrities, and in three years I assisted individuals such as mayors, governors, professional athletes, and even the head coach of the New York Jets.
