  Kamil, a goodhearted worker, lands a job at a construction site nearby, going against his principles of opposing urban transformation. The former jobholder, a Syrian refugee, wants Kamil to leave.   Teaching Assistant to ARTS 350: Physical Theatre class instructed by Bedirhan Dehmen Put simply, physical theatre refers to an eclectic theatrical style which focuses on the unfolding of a narrative/story through physical acts. Although words and spoken language are not totally neglected, the physical-visual is privileged over the verbal-textual. Drawing on methods and directing practices of some of the monumental 20th century theatre practitioners such as Konstantin Stanislavski, Bertolt Brecht, Eugenio Barba, Jerzy Grotowski, as well as contemporary choreographer-directors like Pina Bausch, Meg Stuart, Lloyd Newson, Wim Vandekeybus, this course aims to explore the physical, imaginative and vocal resources of the students. Through participation in structured and improvisational exercises/tasks borrowed from a variety of physical theatre and movement techniques, students will open up themselves to the theatrical event in movement, image/metaphor and dialogue, investigating an original theatrical language. In addition to practical-bodily exercises, students will also be asked to read assigned articles, participate in video screening and discussion sessions, and provide written responses. Show less

  Sahnesizler, gittiği mekanın koşullarına uyum sağlayarak koreografik bir oyun formunda bir yolculuk hikayesi anlatan gezici bir oluşumdur. Tasavvuf edebiyatının en önemli eserlerinden biri olan, 12. yüzyılın ünlü İranlı şairi Feridüddin Attar’ın Mantık Al-Tayr (Kuş Dili) eserinden yola çıkan Kuşlar Meclisi (The Conference of the Birds) Peter Brook ve Jaen-Claude Carriere tarafından oyunlaştırılmıştır. Sahnesizler Kuşlar Meclisi isimli eseri İstanbul, Eskişehir ve Ankara'da toplamda 9 temsil sergilemiştir. Show less
