Represent detained and non-detained immigrants in removal proceedings. Submit requests for release from ICE custody. File petitions for writ of habeas corpus in federal district court. Supervise and train pro bono volunteer attorneys in their representation of immigrants in removal proceedings. Provide trainings to staff and volunteers on immigration detention, community engagement, and other topics. Created the organization's first detention representation program. Developed and maintain relationships with grassroots organizations throughout the Hudson Valley and Upstate New York to create advocacy campaigns in support of incarcerated immigrants.
