I had the great chance to meet Emmanuel when I was PhD student in the social science laboratory IREGE of the University of Savoie. He was managing one of the laboratory team and was heavily involved in research activities. I've been lucky that he gave me his confidence in getting involved in some of his many high quality reseach projects such as organizing conferences and workshops or coordinating books.
