I joined Michael's team in January of 2018 to lead Channels and Content in the Internal Comms organization. Michael is an exceptional leader...one of the rare leaders that is strategic yet able to execute, thoughtful yet acts with a sense of urgency, and rolls up his sleeves alongside his team - whether they're senior, junior, or peers. He made an incredibly difficult transition - joining Merck from outside the company and outside the industry - easy for me, and I can't think him enough. Anyone would be lucky to work with, or for Michael Blash.

I’ve had the pleasure of working with Michael in my role as one of his organization’s strategic marketing partners; we support his team’s internal employee engagement and communications activities. Because Michael’s team is comprised of communicators representing multiple divisions, priorities, and message platforms, there’s great risk of disjointed, diffused, or misaligned delivery. However, Michael’s outstanding ability to look across a matrixed enterprise and tie the many elements together in a way that makes sense for the business while retaining relevance of content for each target audience has more than overcome this potential obstacle. Indeed, Michael consistently found ways to streamline processes, leverage initiatives across divisions, and weave enterprise messaging throughout divisional communications. He’s also direct, honest, creative and values the spirit of true collaboration and partnership. Whether you’re an outside resource like my agency, or an internal business colleague, what more can you ask for?
