In March 2020 Felippe Correia applied for a volunteer role we had advertised for a Statistical Analysis project for our Homeless Outreach program, Stand Up Step Out. During the application process Felippe and I met via video call due to COVID restrictions. After completing the application and induction process Felippe began work on the project. Felippe was provided with our data and loose parameters and generalised questions in regards to what the organisation was looking for from the data. From this loose brief Felippe has provided a full review of the data including the development of a data dashboard and a comprehensive 27 page report. Felippe was able to identify trends in the data that we hadn’t previously considered. Since providing the review and report Felippe has offered to update the way we collect our data so that it feeds directly into the dashboard, allowing us the immediate ability to review statistics and provide up to date information to our board and funding bodies. During my time working with Felippe I have observed the following; • Good communication skills both written and verbal, • Ability to convey key statistical data in an easy to understand format; • Ability to transform loose project guidelines into a comprehensive and complete project; • Ability to work within the parameters of the project guidelines whilst also using initiative to extend the parameters to reflect additional data trends; • Ability to work well individually; • Driven and motivated to complete the task within a short timeframe; • Ability to present the data in an online format as well as a comprehensive written report; Overall, Felippe far exceeded my expectations on what was possible with the program data.
