University of Toronto Youth Law Program

During my summer I spent four weeks at the Faculty of Law discussing advanced legal concepts, learning about the reality of the Canadian legal system, and applying their knowledge in a variety of stimulating environments. I was introduced to the opportunity to step into the shoes of a lawyer and immerse myself in the practice of law. I was able to better my advocacy and analytic skills. I received the chance to go behind the scenes at some of Canada’s largest courts and most prestigious law firms. I worked alongside other high school students from a worldwide spectrum who were also successful for the limited places on offer. I was also given the chance to apply what I learnt through immersive, realistic, and complex legal simulations, such as: mock trials taken place at Osgoode Law School with real judges. Show less
