I supervised Meri while she worked with the UN Office for Disaster Risk Reduction (UNISDR) in Suva, Fiji. I have supervised many people in my time and can genuinely say that she displays both excellent research skills as a project officer and team member attributes that make working with her a real pleasure. I found her ability to pick up tasks with minimal instruction very impressive as she should drive and initiative to perform her tasks to the best of her ability. She was keen to help out in any way she could asking to assist other colleagues or myself if she had capacity. This was further displayed in her stakeholder relations, where she was able to quickly build genuine and long lasting relations with her counterparts from different cultures. Some of which still endure to this day. Overall, I would highly recommend Meri to anyone. A seemingly ever increasing rare recommendation.
