  The South East Melbourne Phoenix is a new National Basketball League (NBL) franchise. As CEO I worked closely with the Owner, Executives and Senior Level Managers to drive the brand's development from concept to its current position as a fully functioning high-performance team with record membership and crowd attendance for an NBL start-up. I now oversee all strategy, operations and media relations and constantly strive to further develop the success of our new franchise. I have already established robust relationships with many corporate sponsors and am particularly pleased about our philanthropic partnership with the Starlight Foundation.

  In this role reporting to the CEO & COO I planed, strategised and oversaw significant projects both locally and internationally for the NBL. My areas of focus were to:* Build and further develop key relationships with international organisations including the NBA, the CBA (Chinese Basketball Association) and FIBA. * Forge new pathways for Australian junior players by working together with Basketball Australia, The Centre Of Excellence and the Australian Basketball Association to develop the inaugural NBL Combine program - a key event to ensure the continued growth and improvement for the League.* Foster and nurture the NBL National Community Program to develop staff across all areas and to broaden and expand the sport's appeal with the public.

  In this role I oversaw local and international projects for the NBL. My responsibilities included all aspects of operational planning such as budgeting, event operations, media relations and marketing, sponsorship and funding, ticketing, transport, signage and accommodation and the management of relationships with key stakeholders in the Vic Government, other sporting bodies and corporate sponsors.Key achievements included:* Successful organisation of the biggest MVP Awards Night in the NBL's history.* Highly successful planning and organisation of the NBL's inaugural All Australian Tour of China which was watched by 30 million viewers in China alone.* Initiated, developed and promoted the Basketball Without Borders Asia program.

  In this role, reporting to the General Manager, I was engaged by the NBL to engage athletes with current sponsors and act as a player liaison point in order to strengthen sponsorship relations and delivering great value outcomes for sponsors and partners. This involved overseeing the partnership of approximately 25 players with key sponsors.Responsibilities include:• Empowering athletes to promote the league individually through sponsors’ activations and social media, delivering a value added service to sponsors and creating wide spread marketing for the league through player engagement.• Responsible for the content on the “Player’s Corner” of the NBL website.• Assist the Operations team with logistics and any league operational needs (game day production) as required on a case by case basis.• Assist with Production and distribution of press releases in collaboration with the Sponsorship and Media manager.• Add value to Repucom reports through maximization of player/sponsor relationships. Providing the right player, for the right sponsor, at the right activation.• Sponsorship activation management and account fulfillment• Operations support for the sponsorship team• Player engagement/media content scheduling and production• Press Releases in conjunction with sponsorship manager• Development of Player Profiles and distribution across social media platforms • Social media integration for sponsorship partners, on-line and newsletter content delivery
