Welding engineer Trainee-Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited- June 2012 to May 2013 (As part of PGD program) Worked as a trainee in the Welding Technology Centre of BHEL Trichy as part of my PG certification course from Welding Research Institute Trichy. Experience at WTC BHEL Trichy. • Worked along with BHEL engineers and learnt first-hand on how to create and study documents like WPS, PQR and WPQs. • Learnt about welding consumable procurement and its testing from the consumables section of WTC. Experienced firsthand the creation of the Welding Consumable Procurement Index (WCPI) using which consumable are procured for BHEL shops. • Learnt how to review WPS and PQRs for various materials including SS. • Learnt how to carryout surveillance visits in the shop floor. • Experienced welder testing at BHELs own welding school by the Boiler Inspector. • Dealt technical codes like ASME SEC9, AWS D1.1, ASME SEC 8, ASME SEC 5 and ASME SEC 2.
