      The neurotoxicity of alpha-synuclein oligomers in Parkinson’s Disease and the mechanisms behind their aggregation are far from being fully understood, mainly because of the difficulties associated with their detection. As a response to this challenge, my research project looks at the use of solid-state nanopores at for the detection and differentiation of difference aggregation states of alpha-synuclein in complex solution.
