I collaborated with Carles while I was working at the University of Venice. We researched new methods to extract biometric information such as gender, ethnicity and age from the face. The collaboration lead to several international publications. He has always shown a strong knowledge of machine learning and computer vision, and is highly capable at applying this knowledge to find solutions to new problems.
