Bio
Tim Boyd
Jim is a great cameraman and a willing colleague. I find him to be creative and open to ideas, willing to work the long hours and with a great personality and an upbeat attifude.
Dave Tucker
I remember Jim's work as a stellar part of the the Oprah Team. Funny thing is... everyone there is excellent, and while I did not go out too much afterwards... we all knew each other by our face and the tools we brought to the trade. While editing the Oprah show on the Grass 150 with the 200 switcher we would roll 7 cameras synced after the Live Cut to polish, redo or make do. While cutting the show together with the Producers and Supervisory polisher~ some name like that... one could often count on a great sot from Jim. That is the best I can say... because you know his shot will always be there. And really that is all that money can want... a sure shot for the directors Eye and great stuff for the Editor to Polish with in the post. This was the era of D2 (1991-1998) so my memory of Jim is based on seeing his Face on Linked then reconnecting again. Funny- this works! (My highlights which he may have been on were the Prince Shows, Walter Cronkite Special, Jane Seymour Live and running into edit 1 changing the open at 8:44 am when O was live at 9 and of course MJ championship '98 when he came in "late" on first break and we had to shoot him coming in during the spot break... ( maybe 2:30) post it... 3 - four shots.. hot reel the 1 inch to Tape one Position and roll for O's Intro in the next segment. As Always... we were there as a team, Dean the Floor, Joe the Tape / Assist Edit... and for these moments humbled "me" in the edit seat. Jim is part of those great moments for memorable TV... and she always had great food between shows too... enough already Tucker! Written on the morning of 9/11/11~
