To ensure the operating forces and shore establishment are provided with timely, adequate, and operationally suitable spares logistics support and to provide spares allowance guidance and oversight through policy and objective spares assessments. Spares Policy/Assessment Provides policy and guidance for determining and fulfilling the materiel support needs of the Operating Forces of the Navy and Shore Establishment, and reviews requirements ensuring conformity with guidance. Key Areas of Interest: Aircraft Procurement, Navy (APN-6), Other Procurement, Navy (OPN-8) and Weapons Procurement, Navy (WPN-6) Aviation and Maritime Enterprise Support Monitors, analyzes, reviews, and initiates necessary actions, policy, or guidance for the determination and satisfaction of the materiel needs of the units associated with each of the Navy’s warfighting enterprises.
