Bio
Marcia Bujold
A few years ago, I had the great pleasure of learning Mandarin with Qiong Waters. From the first moment Qiong walked into our classroom, I knew we were in for a treat. Her instruction was clear and thorough, but also creative. Qiong brought the language to life for us - via short poems, stories, cultural references and her own experiences growing up in China. We worked hard to learn vocabulary and the subtleties of Chinese grammar, but we had fun, too. Qiong is a gifted teacher. With her energy, generous spirit, warmth and good humor, she brings everyone in. She lets you know you can learn this difficult language, and that you ARE learning it. I enjoyed every class!

I enjoyed studying Chinese with Qiong! Not only did she display enthusiasm and positivism when teaching but she also constantly managed to explain complex texts clearly. She engaged with students and had interesting insights to share. Thanks to Qiong, I have learned a lot regarding the Chinese culture and my Chinese has improved considerably.
