May 2018 - Present
I provide professional land use planning support on a wide range of development files and applications for clients across southwestern Ontario, including Official Plan Amendments, Zoning By-law Amendments, Draft Plans of Subdivision, Site Plans, and Minor Variance applications for residential, commercial, mixed-use, industrial, agricultural, and institutional land uses. This work includes the day-to-day management of files on the Principal Planner’s behalf; preparation of Planning Justification Reports (‘PJRs’), Urban Design Briefs (‘UDBs’), Heritage Impact Assessments (‘HIAs’), supporting graphics (including the use of ArcMap and GIS software), presentations for public and privately-initiated community meetings, community consultation, and frequent correspondence with clients and approval authorities. I collaborate with technical professionals from other firms as part of multi-disciplinary teams. I also attend Council and Committee meetings to speak to these applications on behalf of clients and respond to questions from members of Council and the public. I assist in the preparation of materials for Ontario Land Tribunal hearings in cases where the Principal Planner has been retained as an expert witness by a municipality or a client from the private sector.
