  Improved reproductive and maternal healthcare access and quality for inmates at the Maine Women’s Center by conducting a needs assessment and developing policy and practice recommendations. Developed data collection protocol, conducted interviews and focus groups with staff and inmates, analyzed data using qualitative coding software, created quality improvement recommendations, and presented findings to department leaders, including the head of medical auditing. Findings and recommendations are driving safety, quality, and access enhancements for the prison's healthcare system. This internship was supported by the Harvard Maternal and Child Health Center of Excellence.
