    • Voluntary role - Treasurer
      • Mar 2016 - Present

Responsible for all bookkeeping, banking, credit control and payroll, this role keeps me on my toes as regards the day to day running of a business. While I also prepare a monthly committee report and ensure that the club runs within its budget, it is an interesting contrast to the advisory work I do in my day job. It has given me the opportunity to fine tune some of my processing skills which I have been able to pass on to staff and clients.

    • Voluntary role - Swim coach and Official
      • Jun 2014 - Present

Swimming is my passion, but accountancy pays the bills! When I'm not at work I'm at a swimming pool:I hold my Swimming Teachers Certificate and Level 1 Coaching Certificate and have just completed the NRASTC (National Rescue Award for Swimming Teachers and Coaches) so everyone should be in safe hands when I volunteer on poolside - currently just an hour or two a week.I also hold the Judge 2 Officials qualification, which means that when the kids are competing at galas, I get to wear white and be on poolside making sure that there are no rule infringements. It also has the benefit of an uninterrupted view of the racing. Show less

Starting as Outsourcing Supervisor, I was soon promoted to Manager as the firm grew from 2 partners to 4 and both the Outsourcing and General Accounts teams doubled in size. Using predominantly Sage 50, we produced monthly management information, prepared VAT returns and ran payrolls for a variety of clients across the Thames Valley and London.
