Exhibition Officer, RMIT Culture (previously RMIT INTERSECT)
-
Jan 2020 - Jan 2022
I commenced my role as Exhibition Officer at RMIT INTERSECT in early 2020, working on Project Space Gallery exhibitions and public programs for Posthuman Publics and Paul Yore's Pleasures Against Nature. As the COVID-19 pandemic began unfolding at the start of this year, I managed to negotiate and manage the postponement and cancellation of the 2020 SITUATE residency program and the safe return of Taiwanese artist Huang Ding-Yun amidst confusion, closing borders and travel restrictions. RMIT Culture underwent a significant restructure in late 2020 and I became an integral member of the newly formed Curatorial Team. I developed the framework for the Curatorial Team SharePoint in collaboration with colleagues, worked on the recruitment and onboarding of the Curatorial Front of House Teams and developed a rostering system for Front of House that covers all four gallery sites. While managing these operational aspects of the restructure, I also produced and delivered a range of projects across the galleries program--including a solo exhibition of new work by artist John Meade shown at Project Space Gallery, and the group exhibition RE/SET, presented at First Site Gallery Show less

Audience Engagement & Studio Programs Manager
-
Jan 2019 - Dec 2019
During my time at ACE Open (now named Adelaide Contemporary Experimental), my programming consistently met and exceeded audience visitation targets, with approximately 25% of all audiences visiting to attend a public program. I enabled engagement with contemporary art and artist’s practice through screenings, performances, workshops, school visits and professional development courses. The success of public program engagement led to my role evolving from Public Programs Coordinator to Audience Engagement Manager in early 2019.As a member of the organisation's inaugural staff team, I managed the creation of policies and procedures for ACE Open's volunteer program, Front of House staff and managed staff training and professional development programs. I collaborated with senior management and the ACE Open board on the creation of the organisation's strategic plan (2017-2020) and annual reports (2017-2019). I developed the organisation's inaugural Audience Engagement strategy and worked in consultation with ACE Open’s Marketing Manager to implement organisation-wide access & inclusion planning. Emerging Arts Professionals Program, Venice Biennale 2019
-
Sep 2019 - Oct 2019
As part of the Australia Council’s Emerging Arts Professional Program, I pro-actively engaged in a wide range of professional development opportunities. I conducted research for and facilitated a guided tour for the Australia Council's Champions Program and assisted with the development and delivery of a networking event for Biennale staff. I was also successful in receiving scholarship funding to further my research into engagement programming and strategy with visits and meetings with staff at several arts and cultural organisations across Europe and the UK. “The program is a proven launch pad for arts professionals. Many past participants now hold high-level positions within the Australian and international arts sectors and credit their time in the program as a pivotal point in their career development. This really is a great example of how Australia’s representation at Biennale Arte 2019 can be leveraged to create opportunities and build the capacity of the broader visual arts sector,” Dr Wendy Were, Australia Council Executive Director Strategic Development and Advocacy Show less

I managed the administration for a series of complex large-scale three-day weekend festival programs, where my highly developed event management and production skills were essential for ensuring successful delivery of a range of programs and events including new performance art commissions, interactive programming for children and families, accessible programming for audiences with a disability and a range of formal talks and panel discussions with key members from the national visual arts sector. Programming and Communications Assistant (Internship)
-
Jul 2015 - Nov 2015
I undertook a five-month internship at Abbotsford Convent in which I assisted with the programming and communications of the Convent's large-scale community-orientated annual festival, Open Spaces. Upon researching previous festivals, I identified that there was scope to introduce a literary-focused program to the event, one that could simultaneously promote the Convent's literary tenants but also engage Melbourne's independent writers and publishers with the event and organisation. I coordinated the logistics of the book and zine fair, including collaborating with external event companies to arrange equipment and supplies for the program. I managed all internal and external stakeholder relationships for the book and zine fair, with a number of external organisations and independent publishers reaching out to the Convent to express their interest in being involved in the event. I created copy and content for the Convent's digital platforms, including a blog post which focused on the book and zine fair. During program delivery I managed the event set-up, stakeholder arrival and departures, provided customer service to visitors and coordinated a series of talk programs relating to writing and publishing as part of the fair. The Open Spaces festival was attended by over 3,000 people and the book and zine fair concept was seen as a key success of the program, one that has since been repeated in following festivals.
