Operationally my role was to build relationships and partnerships utilising the School's research and enterprise capability and the development and implementation of growth opportunities. Strategically I worked with the school management group to deliver a transformational programme to develop the commercial capabilities and culture of the School with a focus on long term growth in R&D funding and income. Key successes: Led the University's involvement in the bid for and subsequent launch and implementation of the £1.5m Digital Catapult Centre Brighton project, negotiating and securing the University's position as lead academic delivery partner, raising the profile of the University's R&D capability and securing further funded project opportunities off the back of the University's involvement. Led a successful consortium bid for a £1m ERDF funded project to promote SME/HEI R&D collaboration in the region in partnership with Gatwick Airport, Wired Sussex and University of Sussex. Launched a student led product design consultancy, providing live project and business experience to students, increasing their engagement and employability and the capacity of the University to respond to product design R&D enquiries.
