• Provide technical assistance to six (and counting) under-resourced and disadvantaged communities in applying to the California Active Transportation Program, assisting with project scoping, public engagement, DAC identification, collision analysis and narrative writing, for a combined $23 million. • Crafted, in partnership with the California Bicycle Coalition and California Walks, SB 127, creating a process for implementing complete streets on the State Highway System, and helped ensure the bill’s passage through the State Legislature. • Facilitated Sustainable Communities for All and Coalition of Active Transportation Leaders, advocating in Sacramento for equitable investment in urban greening and ped/bike infrastructure in marginalized and environmentally burdened communities, maintaining more than $30 million despite declining revenues. • Work with the ClimatePlan coalition to improve state programs and legislation such as the California Transportation Plan and SB 743 and push reforms of the California Transportation Commission through the appointments of Commissioners with backgrounds in Mobility Justice and the creation of an Equity Advisory Committee. Managed the campaign to enact Sam Schwartz's Fair Transportation Formula in New York State. • Coordinated the drafting of State legislation based on the Move NY Fair Plan, the blueprint for the Congestion Pricing plan eventually adopted in 2019, working directly with bill drafters and making final edits prior to the submission of our bill in the New York State Assembly in March 2016. • Oversaw the development and publication of the Move NY Fair Plan by facilitating internal planning within the Move NY team and coalition and consulting with experts in the public and private sectors. • Presented the Move NY Fair Plan to, and secured the endorsements of, dozens of community boards and civic associations in all five boroughs. • Organized five town halls, working with local civic groups and elected officials to discuss the Move NY Fair Plan with their constituents in Brooklyn, Queens and the Bronx. • Met directly with dozens of elected officials, securing the support of key decision makers in the City Council and State Legislature.
