Potentially to bring them peace at the beginning of their grief, and educate them about the process so that they may feel more comfortable and confident in moving forward. -Coordinate recovery of cornea and eye tissue while working with different hospitals, organ procurement organizations, funeral homes, and medical examiners. -Establish a positive rapport with family members to complete a medical and social interview so that we are able to place their gift with the correct recipient. Taking places a lot of times within the hour of someone passing away. -Dispatch technicians on cases to perform specified cornea, whole eye, or research recovery. -Evaluate medical information to deem the potential donor suitable for transplantation or research.
