The 2 areas I focus on are: GDPR: An excellent opportunity for businesses to asses their risk and focus on doing “the right thing” with personal data. As a certified EU GDPR Practitioner, I equip businesses in becoming GDPR ready and competent in their responsibilities going forward. I do this by analysing their data governance, technical and organisational processes for data protection. Based on their current position, I help the client identify the higher risk areas and provide the necessary support and training fulfil these gaps and the remaining GDPR obligations. Awareness Training: I run highly engaging cyber security awareness sessions to help people and businesses not get hacked. These sessions, designed for non-technical people, are training for companies to understand what hackers are doing and how. With plenty of live demos, they get to experience what it’s like to be hacked and to be the hacker. All of the demos are self designed and tailored for the client (including phishing emails & websites, sandboxed ransomware operation, password brute-forcing, packet sniffing, DNS spoofing and HTML injection). People often believe "it'll never happen to me" but after my awareness sessions they understand how and where they are truly at risk and they act on the lessons learnt immediately. Show less

Worldwide I spent a lot of 2015-16 travelling around the world and I "bartered" my digital skills with local companies as I travelled. I had come from London's startup tech scene, having helped 100 year old businesses operate more effectively in today's fast-paced digital world. I loved showing people how making simple changes lead to big results and I’ve seen how many small businesses feel out of touch with the online world. I loved showing people how making simple changes lead to big results and I’ve seen how many small businesses feel out of touch with the online world. As I travelled I came across businesses in S.E Asia and Australia that I wanted to work with but could not have afforded these services, so I offered my skills for free in return for services they could provide me. This included receiving accommodation, meals, training and a longterm vehicle hire. I also continued my work with Freeformers (see below) as a contractor, running workshops on digital innovation and cyber security for banking clients in India, Dubai, Singapore and New York. The most common feedback I received was “I had no idea these kinds of threats existed” and how easy it was to be hacked. This only continued to spark my motivation and lead me to return to cyber security in 2016. As the Lead Trainer, I was responsible for the quality of the delivery of our workshops and ensuring they were meeting the clients expectations (clients included Barclays, BBC and Bloomberg). I also managed the hiring, training and day to day management of 10 other trainers. As Freeformers are focussed on social impact, I had the privilege to deliver these same workshops to young people aged 16-25, where we tailored the training to teach digital skills that would help these young people get into employment or start their own businesses. London, United Kingdom Brisk was an iOS app and server API created to show events happening around you through photos found on social media, in real-time. It worked by detecting photos published in the area around you, filtering the sourced content and the showing you the most relevant content (based on the category of the photo, the time taken and distance from you). As an example, in the early afternoon it would show the photos of popular lunch spots nearby so you could decide what looked nice to eat, or in the evening, you would use it to see what was happening inside bars and nightclubs around you. I acquired investment at the start of the project which enabled me to begin the outsourced development. I later sold my previous company (see below) which allowed me to continue funding the project myself. 5 months after launching the first version and publishing several iterations, I ceased further development on the app. I decided that it had not passed validation based it’s use amongst the desired user-base and it would not be worth continuing its development. Many lessons were learnt during this period about start-up business practices and product development cycle and validation of ideas. This set me up perfectly for when I joined Freeformers, where I taught a lot of this to other large businesses who wanted to learn how to operate like a start-up. Show less

I joined Ultraspeed immediately after finishing my A levels at 18. They trained me up on Linux servers and data centre operations so I could support their web hosting customers. Once competent on the Linux command line and the hosting software that we used, I was managing the web and email services for tens of thousands of websites. A large part of this was investigating cyber attacks on our customers as it was a daily occurrence.
