I began my real estate investing career 25 years ago, and I have been active in investing and managing multifamily properties in California, Oregon, and South Carolina. As an active multifamily investor, I was involved in every facet of the investment process, overseeing and coordinating acquisition, finance, and due diligence phases. I also gained extensive operational experience, having the opportunity to manage apartment buildings both on-site and off-site. I co-founded an in-house property management firm for my portfolio, and lived on-site at several of my properties to personally oversee and manage operations. My hands-on management included rent collections, addressing my tenants’ maintenance needs, turning and marketing vacant units, and repositioning of the apartment communities.
