I was responsible for gathering useful data from these contracts and regressing variables of interest in a linear model in R. With the coefficients ascertained from my regressions, I created an effective pricing model to be used by the sales team to decide future contract pricing. I worked closely with the Fraud team as well. I created multiple self-updating Tableau dashboards to be used by the Fraud Department head to display proof of concept to clients. These dashboards joined 4 important data sources (2 Teradata Databases pulled with SQL queries and 2 large Excel spreadsheets) that had never been joined before--allowing me to provide the most relevant and innovative numbers to the fraud team. I was also responsible for finding and summarizing key research to inform potential new products to customers. I worked with the data team to create a SQL query to pull transaction information, and worked individually to summarize this data in Excel Pivot Tables. Other research projects included looking into the Ad-Tech Industry, understanding air bus cabin mapping, and researching how large events affect airline prices. Show less

ACLI communicates the implications of legislation on the insurance industry to congress to help inform their decisions. During my internship, I worked hands on with the Federal Taxes team and the Retirement Security team to produce deliverables for clients, create useful databases and assist with day to day tasks. Throughout the summer we worked tirelessly informing the Ways and Means Committee, the Securities and Exchange Committee as well as the Senate Finance Committee on retirement and tax issues, particularly in regards to the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act. Additionally, I created a useful and intuitive system for storing our comment letters, dating back to 1990, in a shared database, allowing for all company members to have easy access to this information.
