Sometimes you strike gold and sometimes lightning strikes you twice. Sometimes you get both! When we interviewed Kanishka and Amrit as CCOP Students, we had no idea what we were in for but it was a great ride once they were on board. Punching way above their weight, it was apparent that they were simply ready, willing and able to do much much more. So much so that they accomplished the following: Helped grow the IT team, doubling in size, structure, depth and breadth allowing us to not just play an operational and tactical role but also a strategic role - on-boarding staff, business partners and other companies through the very aggressive merger and acquisitions phase of the Cannabis gold rush. Helped address governance, risk and compliance requirements across the plethora of agencies, boards, regulatory bodies...at some points, responding to an audit request every week. Play a key role in cybersecurity, forensics, prevention, training. Supporting the ERP delivery team using agile/scrum. Supporting the web application team. Supporting the infrastructure and customer service teams...and my favorite... White glove VIP service to the C Suite/VPs - change management and client success skills well beyond their years. They were promoted twice, with the last position as DevSecOps Analysts...no simple feat considering most companies are just beginning their agile journey. I look forward to seeing their stars rise!
