Sometimes you strike gold and sometimes lightning strikes you twice. Sometimes you get both! When we interviewed Kanishka and Amrit as CCOP Students, we had no idea what we were in for but it was a great ride once they were on board. Punching way above their weight, it was apparent that they were simply ready, willing and able to do much much more. So much so that they accomplished the following: Helped grow the IT team, doubling in size, structure, depth and breadth allowing us to not just play an operational and tactical role but also a strategic role - on-boarding staff, business partners and other companies through the very aggressive merger and acquisitions phase of the Cannabis gold rush. Helped address governance, risk and compliance requirements across the plethora of agencies, boards, regulatory bodies...at some points, responding to an audit request every week. Play a key role in cybersecurity, forensics, prevention, training. Supporting the ERP delivery team using agile/scrum. Supporting the web application team. Supporting the infrastructure and customer service teams...and my favorite... White glove VIP service to the C Suite/VPs - change management and client success skills well beyond their years. They were promoted twice, with the last position as DevSecOps Analysts...no simple feat considering most companies are just beginning their agile journey. I look forward to seeing their stars rise!

Kanishka is a go-getter with a passion and enthusiasm in both cybersecurity and information technology. She has a drive to deliver and a laser focused discipline to identify risks & vulnerabilities. When she directly worked under me for data projects, she was highly teachable and seeks to grow in other areas outside of her career discipline of cybersecurity to understand how solutions translate to tangible outcomes in a holistic manner. I would recommend and hire Kanishka in an instant for future opportunities.

My responsibilities included conducting regular training sessions for end-users on security best practices and policies, resulting in increased security awareness and improved user behavior. I implemented Multi-Factor Authentication policies for administrators in Office 365, strengthened overall security, and helped to achieve compliance. I also assisted with privacy audits by providing necessary documentation and automated patch schedules for servers and end-user devices, resulting in increased network security and system productivity. I also worked with a team to improve policies and processes and participated in large-scale cyber breaches and incident response efforts. Additionally, I analyzed company applications for vulnerabilities and potential threats.

I was responsible for implementing secure printing for all printers, which reduced unnecessary printouts, increased information security, and improved the user experience for those who work in multiple office locations. Additionally, I implemented a signature service, Exclaimer, to automate the process of adding signatures for all users, which decreased the time it took to implement signatures for end users. I also conducted BCP DRP tabletop exercises to ensure that business units were trained and plans were executed as designed. This helped the executive team understand how the team would work together during a disaster and identified gaps in existing processes and procedures. I also participated in the technical build of a new AD environment and created the project plan for user migration. In addition, I handled the technical implementation and administration of a Service Desk system, Kaseya, which improved the efficiency of current procedures and automated multiple manual processes. I also implemented a ticketing software Freshdesk within the company. Furthermore, I aligned with the Project Management Office to develop work plans for Change management workstreams and related activities.
