I am on an adventure running an authentic Montessori elementary school in Los Baños, Laguna. I am the owner, directress, and head teacher of our mixed-age class of 6 to 12 year olds. At VCU I taught introductory biology for major and non-majors, cell biology, economic botany, evolution of the Angiosperms, and an HHMI sponsored research lab course, Phage Lab. I developed active learning techniques that could be used in large (100-300 pax) classes, and received grant funding to further those initiatives.
