  This internship consisted of work in the LUMC als a consultant for the medical rehabilitation unit where interdisciplinary work with de clinical doctors of the neurology, orthopedics and intensive care and fysiotherapist, ergotherapist en logopedist was key. An overal view was created in order to decide the best follow-up care for patients in the acute setting and after they left the hospital. The patient population varied from young children to the elderly. The second part of the internship took place in Basalt Rehabilitation Center in Leiden where work was more centered around care on the ward and outpatient care.   During the start and progression of COVID-19 we retrieved information from the electronic patient data system in the LUMC in terms of of numerous clinical features such as symptomalogy, comorbidity and demographic data. This was used for hospital planning and research regarding risk factors for COVID-19 disease.

  During this time I worked alongside the medical team of sports doctors in Alrijne Ziekenhuis in Leiden and Alphen aan de Rijn. We worked with outpatient clinics regarding sports injuries, heart revalidation and sport specific medical examinations as wel as exercise test for a variable group of patients ranging from higher level athletes to patients recovering after surgery. During this time I also worked on research regarding botox injections for treatment of the piriformis syndrome.
