As a scale-up in the automotive space, DeGould builds automated inspection systems that leverage cutting-edge deep learning computer vision techniques to augment and radically disrupt the visual inspection process of finished vehicles. Responsibilities included: ownership of technical architecture, aligning product roadmap with technical delivery, line-management of engineers from principal to graduate, running customer workshops to gather requirements, manage expectations and provide technical expertise. I grew the team to double in size in 12 months to deliver on our aggressive growth plans, and manage a departmental budget of over half a million gbp annually. My days there were highly variable: some days you’ll have found me as an engineering manager; others a product owner; some days a customer success manager; other days an engineer or data analyst; some days as pre-sales consultant, and some days writing grant proposals, or reporting to the company leadership and our board.
