Experienced Biology teacher and tutor in AQA and Edexcel GCSE and AQA Biology A-level courses. I typically work on 6-week cycles of: diagnosis of key areas for improvement (content knowledge and skills); development of areas where significant gains can be made and testing to ascertain progress made and identify further areas for improvement. This is supplemented by revision guidance and preparatory and consolidation assignments which are reviewed within tutoring sessions. Previous students have made significant progress over ~6 months and boosted exam attainment by 3 grades. Show less

- Teaching and managing groups of students, mostly aged 5-17 but also adults and vulnerable adults, learning to sail dinghies and keelboats. - Working within a team of instructors to ensure safe and efficient practise in line with RYA regulations, whilst ensuring that students enjoy the experience of learning to sail. - Liaising with parents to provide the best instruction possible not only for their child, but for the whole group, particularly when dealing with behavioural and social issues. During the four years I have worked at the Guernsey Sailing Trust, I have continually developed my teaching and team management skills in particular, which is displayed in the two additional certificates of Keelboat Endorsement and Senior Instructor I have achieved (details below).
