Heather joined RTI in June 2019 as the Project Director (Chief of Party) for the $60M USAID Worldwide Training (WWT) project. In 2020 she was promoted to the Director, Integrated Learning Solutions role. In her WWT role, she immediately started learning about the project, the team members and RTI. Her positive impact was recognized by RTI business partners and by the USAID client, as evidenced by Contractor Performance Assessment Reporting System score and narrative (CPARS) in which Heather was specifically named and recognized for her technical expertise and management of the WWT project. Heather always puts her heart into everything she does. She has superior technical skills and produces work of exceptional quality. She recognizes the team’s accomplishments and appreciates the quality of work we do. She provides technical leadership and is ready to jump in and help when needed. Heather always works on anticipating project needs, in terms of staffing, resources etc. She has been a very welcoming, supportive, and encouraging team leader. Heather is a clear communicator and works efficiently to prioritize tasks for the client. She has a very practical and data-driven approach to problem-solving. Heather’s openness to feedback from her team and proactive approach to requesting it makes her a great team leader; she is open to change and embraces opportunities for growth. Furthermore, she actively seeks different perspectives and creative solutions from team member whenever we faced a challenge. Heather led the team to adapt to virtual course delivery and develop engaging and efficacious course materials for the client. She oversaw various competing deadlines and helped the team stay on track to meet competing client deadlines. Heather has also been a mentor and coach and regularly provides timely feedback, helps individual team members identify their strengths and weaknesses, identifies opportunities for growth while supporting us to develop into stronger leaders and team members. She has demonstrated multiple Lead Forward (leadership) behaviors including: strong communication and collaboration skills, innovative solutioning, engaging inclusively, and acting strategically. She has been instrumental to the success of WWT and it has been a great experience to learn and grow under her leadership.
